Download speed

Back in college, I used to spend a lot of time at my friend Brad’s dorm. It was the only dormitory on campus with in-room ethernet connections to the internet. In order to test his download speeds, he’d download some big file off of one of Microsoft’s servers. It would usually max out at 100-something kbps. Back in Seattle at my apartment complex, my Comcast cable connection could download 100-200 kbps from Microsoft if I was lucky. Usually it was 30 – 40 k for most downloads.

Here in Japan on my FLET’S Hikari line, it’s a lot faster!

That’s hot.
